Just a thought when seeing no comments: Is it too hot to be fussed about politics?

Exactly right and I think QFizz is a disgruntled civil service employee... Wonder if he would even confess that he is.

You are not actually commenting on topic, so why bother? Just personal insults as far as I can see and I am very sure you are not a Conservative party member.

Regarding your last sentence, I wholeheartedly agree that Mr Redwood is wasted on the backbenches. I worked at Wokingham PCT in years gone by as private secretary to Dr Mundy (Chairman) and saw John there (obviously not to speak to) but in meetings, he was really brilliant. It was in 2004 when Labour was doing their usual bad job with the NHS - but that's another story.
Sir Roger Scruton (RIP) was a gem - but maybe John Redwood could be co-opted as a special adviser as the Conservative government seems a bit thin on the ground regarding men such as he?

Absolutely spot on about FPTP - people only don't like it when they are on the losing side of an election result.

Bravo, Samuel - Your last sentence says it all. While we admire the good work done by most of the civil service there are indeed areas that need improvement. If certain people cannot take criticism and feel they have to resign, then so be it. But then to go to court about it seems puerile to me.

Oh, I also forgot Capitalism and Colonialism as well - more favourites used to accuse Conservatives of providing jobs and industry for their own benefit - instead of for the masses as happens around the world..

It has long been my belief that this is where the opposition is stirring up trouble - in whatever form they decide, be it climate change (children driven by unscrupulous adults) or sexism (LGBTQ?) or 2 favourites racism and bullying: https://socialistworker.co.uk/art/49595/Protest+c...

There was a lot of "dragging of heels" at the civil service, encouraged by opposition benches, I believe. No wonder Priti Patel was frustrated. I know I would be - especially in view of the fact that time is of the essence in these negotiations. What I can say, is thank goodness the Government did some forward planning with drugs purchased in the event of a no deal scenario re Covid-19, and those being used in the event of the NHS having to do so.

What about offering something a bit more enlightening along the lines of new industries springing up as a result of not having everything taking years to be negotiated by the EU-cabal; you remember 7-year Canada deal?
