The DA is who must have gotten this all effed up. Build a better case Lane County, so that citizens who are made to make such a difficult decision, have decent evidence to convict with. Bottom line.. Brandon and Sirus went to Dutch Brothers that night, ARMED. The rest of the story ends with Sirus death, Aaron's having to deal with the decision he made to shoot someone, fatally, and Brandon walking away free. I marvel at the mess. I am now grateful that my decision to leave Eugene last spring frees me from traveling down the very street this occurred on (and stopping at said Dutch Bros for my usual cappuccino) to visit my storage facility on Franklin. I loved it up there too. Thought it was such a nice city. I guess its not the greatest place to live in Oregon after all. I'm sorry Eugene, you will have to deal with this guy again... unless he somehow, miraculously got a clue.
You might want to go over the "facts" with C-Lynn... she says Aaron used Sirus' gun to shoot at Brandon. She is a self-proclaimed expert on this case, you know. Go back to the original articles in November... she "predicted" there would be additional information coming to the surface on this... when Brandon was still at large. Again, just as I said when this all started, "Hmmm".

It is funny that the article does not mention the reason the Uhaul was stopped, or the probable cause that engaged the authorities in the search of the truck.... maybe the pungent odor of mustard coming from the back of the truck, or the obvious lack of iris presence in the guy's eyes!
You are right Dave.... what I meant to convey is that I worked.... and when one works, they are entitled to Unemployment Insurance Benefits. If someone without insurance hits your car, you repair it... if their insurance doesn't cover it, yours does.... my point being this.... why would some people out there think that its "lazy" or any other way negative to collect on your Unemployment Insurance should the unfortunate case be that you would lose your job... I know there are lots of people who abuse ALL of the systems.... that doesn't mean we all do... some of us have a legitimate need and its ignorant to think any differently.
I will have to agree with that one... other hurting clean folks will really be hard pressed if they have to come up with money for testing when obviously they are in need or they wouldn't subject themselves to the humbling experience of applying for assistance. Children of addicts will go hungry or be dropped upon the foster care system.... again with more tax dollars. Yes, some addicts sell their foodstamps and their children still end up hungry or in the system... but at least some of these kids facing the rigors of becoming parentified anyway (results of having a parent who uses all night and sleeps all day - you become the parent to siblings and sometimes even the addict) won't have to worry at 7,8, or 9 years old, how to feed their baby brothers and sisters.... want crime? Take the welfare from active addicts.. unfair, but true.

I know they haven't targeted federal programs yet, but I bet most of you idiots who are touting TEST TEST TEST would propose that it did. HELL WHY DON'T WE JUST SPEND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS DRUG TESTING EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY?? What the hell would we do with all the resulting white collar degenerates? I mean, really people... this is not the way to get people off welfare or off drugs. Like its been said so many times already, yet nobody seems to get it... the people using the hard drugs get clean in a couple days... and they're the ones you're really trying to eliminate.

I worked for nearly 30 years. I paid taxes. I paid into Unemployment and Social Security. I had to retire early because of a Disablitly (which, incidently is completely invisible to someone who does not know me, and I would probably be described by some ignorant onlookers as one of those who draw SSD and "sit around all day getting high") which renders me completely undependable as an employee. I had to concede that I was ripping myself off (I worked for the County Assessor when I had to retire) going in to work everyday barely functional due to the side effects of the 15 medications I was prescribed (7 of which were narcotic/benzos/sleeping pills). I did not seek out all these drugs.... but I lived in a state that had not legalized marajuana for medical use and my doctor, though he agreed it would elimate most of the meds for me, could not prescribe. I am not a low life living off YOUR tax dollars just because I use cannabis as my primary medication. I paid into the system, I should be able to use it....

Wow. I thought this would be a good idea once... but I think my motives were skewed. My previous opinion was a reaction to the decision a few years back that made it nearly impossible for an employer to hire an OMMP cardholder. I would have jumped on the bandwagon then, shouting "if I can't work with my card, they shouldn't be able to get assistance either". This was something I said on the heels of the news...;. and I was fatally wrong.... I don't think what's done after working hours should be the responsiblity of my employer to make me accountable for, not in any way. If I believed they should be, I would have to say that they need to test for alcohol too, which they don't purportedly because its legal. I don't understand how other prescribed drugs with much more dangerous side effects can be used WHILE AT WORK, and I can't work if I choose to smoke a joint in my living room instead of hitting Happy Hour on the way home (and driving).
I am so happy they caught up with this guy. Obviously not the kind of people I want to stand in line behind at Dutch Bros!! This guy deserves to have the book thrown at him. Bad enough to commit armed robbery, but this guy doesn't even have the decency as a human being to stay with his so called friend who has been shot and face the consequences... hell, he probably didn't even know if he was alive or not. - chickensh*t.... and I bet his cellmates don't like chickensh*t people much... yellow belly will probably "PC" up as soon as he can. Good riddance.
Its no wonder Arizona is full of angry criminals.. with Joe Arpaio running his tent city there... it hasn't kept the crime rate down, or the criminals deterred from living there... just ticked 'em off!
