One of the greatest dangers to the Columbia (& those who depend upon it) is a tritium plume that originates in the central part of the Hanford reservation (near the 200E area, if I recall correctly). Does this mean that the cleanup will focus on dealing with "symptoms", instead of going after "sources" of pollution? If that's the case, it sounds like the Dept of Energy is more concerned with being a long-term employer, rather than lead agency of a "Clean up and go" operation. ^..^
