If anyone's listening, Coach Barnett's comments yesterday should be heeded. CU's problems are higher up than Mike Bohn when it comes to a firm commitment and providing leadership to the athletic program, particularly football.

Congrats to Coach Hawkins for finally taking some responsibility. Too bad he waited until his last day on the job to do so.

Chancellor: 303-492-8908.

President Benson ('64): 303-860-5600.

63 years of conference football play and they're gonna let worst coach in CU history get blown out by arch rival nebraska for the grand finale? FIRE DAN HAWKINS NOW!

PS: be nice to the ladies answering the phones, they just work for suckwads.

FIRE DAN HAWKINS NOW!

No way this guy should be allowed to coach final game with Nebraska. Get a CU guy in there.

The administration doing their homework? You mean like they did their homework the last time, or having a consistent leadership and decision making structure?

Pre-Nebraska/Big 12 Championship: "Gary Barnett's job is safe. We're not considering a change."

Gary Barnett Finds out he's fired through the Denver Post: "Ooops, we wanted to say we were gonna get rid of him all along.....we have a guy in mind". Here's $4 million Coach.

Pay consultant $100-150k, then hire Hawkins without DOING HOMEWORK: "we got the guy we wanted. we will never get into a situation where we have to buy out a contract like that. See, Hawkins buyout is only $850,000."

Hawkins goes 6-7 in season two. Give him 5 year extension with $1 million/year buyout. Can't fire him after year 4 because it'll cost $3 million.

Hawkins gets fired after year 5. Here's $2 million Coach.

This article is pure fantasyland. Boner and Stinkano hired a guy just like themselves: won't take any responsibility. They're the same clowns in charge of the next search, and the DC expects them to carry it out with informed precision. Will have pissed away $6+ million and 5 years of dreadful football execution.

The DC waffles more than a pandering politician.

And the search is supposedly on, with the dynamic duo in charge of the next selection, in secret. Gotta cut out the entire cancer before the healing can begin. Remove that pile of "i'll take all the credit but no responsibility for bad decisions" chancellor from all athletic decisions, cut the strings off the puppet of an AD and leave him behind in kansas before they're allowed to screw this up again. Without leadership and a clear university commitment to the program, recruits cannot even make an educated guess. Great leaders make tough decisions and assume responsibility for them. Heck, even good leaders do that. Is it true that there's no cost to a mid-season firing? Wow! Sorry big buffalo, there's 4 clowns in this circus.

It doesn't make sense that the guy wouldn't be burning everything in his arsenal to avoid the blowout today. Just doesn't make any sense.

And so what's the tally on the recruiting scandal in Boulder as faithfully reported by the DC? One assistant head coach guilty of calling prostitutes on his cell phone................Rape accusations that were widely reported but never fully prosecuted..........Two foot in mouth comments "C%$t is a term of endearment in old literature...."-hoffman and "she was a terrible kicker"-GB.

Where's the investigative piece on the Boulder DA who called the news conferences to accuse the University of criminal conspiracy (rape cover up) and why there were no prosecutions? Where is that DA today?

The boner: The Good: Getting AD finances in order; The Bad: Hiring the Pigeon without due diligence; The Ugly: Giving him a multi-million dollar extension for a 6-7 season and beating OK on a muffed punt inside the 15.

The media feeding frenzy and overly reactive university administrators knocked this football to it's knees. Boner and DiStephano hired the Pigeon and handed him a match and can of gasoline to burn it to the ground.

It's all about the money. How much does it cost to keep the pigeon vs. waiting til the cornhole pummeling to end a 5 year tenure that truly leaves the program "burnt to the ground"? How much did CU save by keeping this clown for one final year of embarrassment?
