I also do not like this ending. I don't like the time travel erasing this future. Personally, I wanted them to keep the Voyager coming home as the beginning, but then show us glimpses of THAT future. Show us flashbacks to some of the things they lost, maybe show it in terms of speeches or debriefings, idk. I really hate time travel sometimes, and I do not like that this version of reality was erased. I know they wanted to get an ending, but they could have ended it where they did, or got them home another way and not even bothered with the future timeline. But to show us a future and then erase it seems cheap.
#late, but I love this episode! I also like that Janeway gets to have a bit of a sexytimes story. I hesitate to say "love story" cause it's not, but I like seeing her be desirable and play off someone like this. Those two also had great chemistry as actors, which absolutely made this episode work so well too.
What a beautiful episode. I've been waiting for Mark to get to this one, and his comments are also beautiful.
"Janeway for President."
Oh I love this episode so much. It's one of my favorite episodes in not just DS9, but in Trek, period. I love it. I've been waiting for Mark to get to this one.
What's fun is if you go back and watch interviews with the cast before season 3 aired, you get to see Hugh Dancy being an adorable little troll. When asked about whether there's a season four he makes these amazing puns, and says things like "Well, let's just say it's a good jumping off point" (I'm paraphrasing, cause I can't find the interview). Basically, he's a little shit about it, and I just love it.
Oh you should watch Manhunter. It's good, and so 80s-tastic. People are smoking in public places! And the clothes! It's just weird to look back at that time, and sometimes really fun. But the acting is good, and I really like to see the different portrayals of Hannibal.
I suppose since I'm telling you this, that means I have to actually read Red Dragon. I've seen the movie of it and Manhunter, but never read that one. I've read Hannibal & SotL, but not that one. Well, it's not on my to do list.
I was waiting for you to get to this episode, because it's such a sweet episode between Jake & Benjamin. I love the bond these two have, and I love the journey they take together.
