redsn0w and ultrasn0w made us use 3.0 os on 3g and 2g jailbreak and unlocked, and it maded the people with 2.2.1 get unlocked so it helped alot of people (the alot part), Everybody that owns a 3GS now (the few part)
the people that will have 3.0.1 on 3G and 2G and the people with a 3GS (the alot part that is refered above)

ok I have a 2G inactive iPhone, and I want to update it to 3.0 os.
Can I restore the iphone and in the restore updates folder add the new 3.0 os file and update that way.

yes I thought he was talking about redsn0w, sorry you only need to update to 3.0 then unlock and jailbreak using redsn0w.

I have a question if I have a 2G inactive iphone and want to actived it using redsn0w how can i do that itunes will not let me update it to 3.0 os, Basically how can I update to 3.0 os with a inactive iphone.
