Security cameras the world over are hidden from view. Warning signs are remote from the camera positions. What's the big deal?
The signs work. End of discussion as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinion, this is the kind of kid who contributes to the pervasive mediocrity in Washington schools. Disruptive, distracting, disrespectful...the kind of kid who makes teachers ask for smaller classes so a lower percentage of students have their academic experience tainted by him. Very unfortunately, this teacher broke the no-hands ban, thus giving the kid a victim platform and driving the problem that he and his ilk create for students and educators out of the public focus.

Looks to me like a case of two attention hounds just using different flimsy means to get it.

My issue is with full-coverage premium levels/public funds paid across the board for a population (under 40 y/o) that is statistically very healthy/very low utilizers and not in need of soup-to-nuts coverage at the public expense. I have less of a problem with public funding of "catastrophic" coverage for major medical issues that is far less expensive. But, you know? It's interesting. So many of the under-40s who profess to be unable to buy insurance (boorrrring) own all or many of the latest tech devices, cool cars, etc. Why should the public pay for people whose priorities are screwed up and pay full coverage costs to boot?

Oh please, Ms. Owner. Get a freakin' clue. Let's try focusing on your vicious loose dog attacking another dog and its owner.

Red light cameras rely on catching offenders breaking the law. Whether the program produces revenue is entirely beside the point. Show up at a funeral of a guy t-boned at a Kent intersection on his way home from work by a driver who ran the light if you need "hands-on" experience. If a camera deters that moron, just one moron, it's money well-spent.

Paterno was not an eye-witness to anything. The report he received was hearsay. He had no means to determine whether the reporter had some ax to grind with Sandusky, had an over-active imagination, had misinterpreted sounds/movements. He received no training on how to properly investigate an allegation of this nature, nor would he be expected to. He did exactly as he was supposed to...report it to the university administration that employs human resource professionals who ARE trained to investigate and, absent some obviously false claim, contact the authorities. The university, in a breathtaking act of cowardice and ass-covering, threw him to the lions of public opinion. But in the end, the jock outclassed them all.

Tiniest tip of the L&I iceburg. Get some truly independent medical utilization people (not L&I contract folks) in there and then the real fun will begin.

Exactly. Dispense it out of pharmacies. That won't stop the potheads from whining/faking to their docs sufficiently to get scripts (recall the explosion of handicapped parking permits) but at least it'd be treated like a drug if it's dispensed like any other drug.
