I arrived on the scene on my bicycle a few minutes after the crash. The fire truck passed me on its way to the scene. When I got out on the bridge I observed a female laid out on the sidewalk on her back. The firemen were giving CPR. A minute or three later a medic one unit arrived. About 3-4 minutes later they had her in the ambulance, still giving CPR to the injured. I waited around about 5 minutes more and the ambulance did not leave the scene before I left. Despite reports, the ambulance did not "rush" to the hospital. During the time I could see the injured (before they put her into the ambulance) -- probably 5 minutes or so -- she appeared unresponsive and body limp.

I've heard that the number of people who survive after being given CPR is less than 50%. From what I could observe at the crash scene, it didn't look promising. Sad.
