<title>KOMO - Seattle, WA : Head-on crash shuts down Fremont Bridge | KOMO News- Seattle, Washington| News</title>
<link>http://www.komonews.com/news/local/39793767.html#IDComment15433003</link>
<description>I arrived on the scene on my bicycle a few minutes after the crash. The fire truck passed me on its way to the scene. When I got out on the bridge I observed a female laid out on the sidewalk on her back. The firemen were giving CPR. A minute or three later a medic one unit arrived. About 3-4 minutes later they had her in the ambulance, still giving CPR to the injured. I waited around about 5 minutes more and the ambulance did not leave the scene before I left. Despite reports, the ambulance did not &amp;quot;rush&amp;quot; to the hospital. During the time I could see the injured (before they put her into the ambulance) -- probably 5 minutes or so -- she appeared unresponsive and body limp. I&amp;#039;ve heard that the number of people who survive after being given CPR is less than 50%. From what I could observe at the crash scene, it didn&amp;#039;t look promising. Sad. </description>
