What is scary is these mushroom hunters go out during riffle hunting season. I hear too many stories about hunters coming across people mushroom picking and they are wearing brown and greens rumaging in the brush areas. Everyone that goes out in the woods, even for a day trip, should be prepared. And if you are going to go out during hunting season, wear bright orange. Common sense...either you're born with it or you're not. But I do hope they find the lost person.

Kinda funny how many people promote legalizing marijuana, (smokers, non-smokers, medical, non-medical) but OMG a college kid in oregon smokes pot..... and hello he did not get cited with it. The kid in the back that admitted to it didn't even get cited with it. Everyone seems to forget that these guys are 18-25. I remember when I was 18-25....good times! These kids are generally good kids, we only see the crap the new posts only because they play football. Yes they are making very stupid choices doin 118, driving suspended, yada yada. But I think almost every kid I have ever known has been busted for speeding, and stupidly. Many have drank as a minor, few busted with mip. And fighting. These are young, testosterone, football playing, rowdy, and generally good kids. They could be the kids methed out, stealing your metal, knocking your daughter up and then knocking her out, not even in school.

Of course my kids do work around the house. Our littlest at 5 has her own age appropriate chores. I absolutely believe in working as a team to maintain our house we all use together. But as our kids start to grow into young adults they need to have outside work experience in order to be better adults. The way laws and society is going our kids will not be able to do any prep type things and thrown into the world. Plus doing chores for your parents isn't the same as having a job. Jobs have responsiblities, life lessons, working with a variety of people, customer service, etc. that you don't get pulling weeds and unloading the dishwasher lol

Our now 15 yr old son has been wanting a job since 13. When he said he could not find a job, I called bs and looked for him. I found out after 2 wks job searching that the "workers permit" does not exist anymore. Kids can no longer have a paper route, pick berries, or mow lawns anymore. You can't even get a job washing dishes. Now he's about to turn 16 and the simple Mcdonalds or things like that you used to be able to get jobs are not easily available because there are grown ups with families that lost their jobs and now working the jobs teens used to have. It's very sad because I'm affraid he will loose his drive to work. Schools loosing money arn't educating kids properly and now they don't have to work. Scary future!

I agree. I'm all for people gettin out there riding their bikes for pleasure, for training, or commuting. But a lot of riders to travel very narrow roads with a lot of traffic like hwy 126, 101, Lorane Hwy etc. Even in a regular passenger vehicle it is scary because there simply isn't enough room for you, the on-coming vehicle and the rider. It's just plain dangerous for all on the road. Laws of physics proves time and time again that the rider, causing a dangerous situation, is most often in a loosing battle whether it be serious injury or death. No one wants to hit a rider. Even if the rider was in the wrong, I personally would still have emotional issues with hitting someone. Riders need to understand that they can cause accidents and be the one who pays dearly. Best regards to the family dealing with the loss of a loved one and the driver involved.

Unfortunate that their house was charred... but kinda stupid is stupid does right? I mean even my kids know not to put the bbq too close to the house. And you don't leave a fire unattended. I don't think I know one person that hasn't had a grease fire in the BBQ at least once. I know I sure have....4th of July this year as a matter of fact. But it was the darn chicken. Maybe we should have gone after Foster Farms lol...(sarcasm)
