Ok, so I was curious about this and looked for links to more info in your comment, but you had none. So I clicked on your name, figuring perhaps you post info on your Facebook page. And I wasn't wrong. I found this drivel:

"the vaccine issue is not just about science (pro study vs anti study), pro/con opinions and name-calling. It is a spiritual battle. Introducing animal DNA, viruses and carcinogenic chemicals into a body of an infant (or an adult) with vaccines is a sinister activity, destroying human DNA and the integrity of the human genome."

So there you have it. A spiritual battle. Forgive me if I find it a less than-compelling reason to introduce dangerous diseases into our community.

Did you even bother reading the article? It addresses exactly your questions. It even mentions the "baby with the bathwater" mantra.

Good piece. As for your last point, it's astonishing how many television people seem to confuse the north tunnels with the south tunnels. I've seen the same on BBC, CNN, and others, with anchors mentioning the tunnels Israel is now destroying as if they're Gaza's economic lifelines. Shocking that so few Israeli spokespeople have sought to correct the misconception.

This column is well-intentioned, but the timing is badly off-putting and offensive. There are lots of media messages nowadays vilifying maleness. We have come to believe as a society that MEN, as a gender, are responsible for women's problems. This is untrue. Society--men and women both--are responsible for ALL social problems. It is no more incumbent on a man to fix an issue that has nothing to do with him personally, than it is for a woman. Men are not more capable than women for solving problems in far flung countries. I believe we should have at least one day a year when we can recognize men and fathers simply for who they are, and for one day stop pretending that it's all men, as a gender, who are somehow responsible for fixing everything.

Food for thought: Imagine an article on Mother's Day holding women accountable for all the bad, neglectful, irresponsible mothers. I think we'd all rightfully find that offensive. So give fathers that same courtesy.

That response to the male educator is one of the sickest things I've read in a long time. (As is the question, honestly.) People should NOT be shamed and made to feel guilty for their attraction. Both men and women all have qualities they're attracted to; for some it's physical beauty, for others it's some other quality that makes them feel a certain way. Women often like men who exude confidence as an expression of their masculinity. This may or may not have anything to do with patriarchy, but if you think it's simply the patriarchy that makes men attracted to beautiful women, you are simply an idiot.

As an aside, I really pity this man's students, who are getting his guilt-suffused hogwash. Then we wonder why we can't seem to figure out gender in this country. STOP making people feel guilty for things that are not wrong.

What's wrong with "denying" Israel and Zionism? It's a political viewpoint as valid as any other.

The fact that you think so probably says more about you than about them.

Ultimately, it's just for their own people. They need to reinforce their old obsolete 'shytta', and to fantasize that they're still taking a stand and being heard. It's not about having an impact on others, it's about justifying their own existence.
