I see what you are saying as far as the law goes, but God's law was in effect long before the Constitution.

Marriage was not property matter before it was religious. God made Adam and Eve and they were the first marriage. So marriage was started with Christianity. This argument is pointless if you don't believe in God. I'm not trying to be rude, but we are coming from two totally different places here.

You are right in saying that there are many people who go against what the bible says--myself included, I'm by far not perfect.

Check out this link:
If you really want to understand my point of view (not saying you need to agree with it). If nothing else please at least read the section titled: An Atheist on a Talk Show.

A civil union would not be good enough for me, but I'm also a Christian.
The importance of marriage in anyones mind who is not a Christian is just an illusion, in my opinion. Like wanting something just because everyone else seems to be doing it but really doesn't hold value if you aren't living the life it was intended for.

I'm actually a female. What made you think I'm male? That's funny..

Thank you for asking. Here's my position on it. Seriously, please try to understand so we can at least agree to understand where each other is coming from:

Marriage is a religious institution. From my point of view, homosexuality goes against what the bible teaches (basic morals). That said, gays are allowed civil unions where they can have the same rights by law as married couples. So why should they be allowed marriage when they are going against what the bible says? In my view it is a mockery of what God created (I.e.'What God has joined together, let no man separate').

I know you don't agree with my view but do you at least understand it? I'm curious what you'll write back. I don't consider myself closed minded but I really don't know how anyone could not respect this viewpoint. It's like me coming into your church or organization and telling you how to run it. It's not right!

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

Trust me, it's mutual.

I know you're diverse. Thankfully I know you are NOT all as crazy as the people in the picture above. But I still disagree with the lifestyle and that won't change.

I'm actually not. You don't know me so please don't judge me. I could say the same about you; you are intolerant of anyone who has a different opinion other than yours.

Have you seen the picture at the top of this page? Are you calling the people in the picture a stereotype? Isn't that a little insulting?

Good one! Sounds like someone needs to take a trip back to the 2nd grade where jokes like that were actually funny!
