Not sure why he is leaving whilst he can still be a positive influence at the club. Rodgers could certainly do with him. He could have played the kind of role that Giggs did in the latter days of Ferguson. For those old enough to remember also the role Dave Mackay played at Derby in the Cloughie era. Is money the driver here? If next year can be a better season why not back it up with his presence?

Saw the man live in a small rowing club in England back in the 70's. I was a fan from then on.__

Met Jim once in Cork Airport and he was a lovely guy to speak with.
I always liked his voice and how clear the words were when he sang some beautiful songs.
RIP Carrickfergus

Fair enough on the 'Lunster' reference. Munster have a wonderful tradition but it's much more healthy now that there is pride and real competitiveness not only by Leinster but the other provinces too.
Four strong provinces well supported bode well for the national team.

Not a fan of TT by any means but I met Jason Orange by pure accident in a Dublin airport lounge the morning after their last concert here. He was just a nice bloke - no BS and took the time to talk despite his minders wanting to cut the conversation short.
Probably just wants to get on with his life.

Totally agree. Team Ireland have done themselves credit showing great magnanimity and maturity. Other sporting bodies could take a lesson from them.

Great weather in Dublin and a great result for Ireland this time.
Really enjoyed cheering on the runners just before Heartbreak Hill!
Well done to all who took part.
