I am an American who happens to be conservative and also happens to be a Christian. Since November, I have lived in a state of stress about the power this election would bring to the radical socialist left. This group was barely being held back for the Bush-Clinton-Bush years. My November post "Grieving in America" decribes the foundation for that state of stress - in spite of the fact that in my heart I know God is in control.

Glenn keeps asking us for our turning point. Well my anger has been building for weeks. In 5 short months America as I knew it is being reshaped from on high rather than according to State wishes - and the new form is not pretty. Read "Declining Ethics in Government" and "Two Weeks (of Insanity)".

"Meeting" Gerald Walpin this week through Glenn's show has been my turning point. My anger has turned to white hot outrage. I can't even find a place to put what I am feeling right now. So I blog so I don't explode. Somehow I have to find action beyond letters, emails, phone calls, petitions, rallies..... Don't know what it is yet. I am sad to say that my OPINION is not wrong. It is my opinion. Switching to Independent will not affect the GOP's support of Crist at all. They will do what they want. However there is a huge grasroots movement growing for Rubio. If you want to miss it, that is your choice. He will be elected because people get out and work to make it happen, not because of a party bait and switch game.

What happens to support for those candidates who are running while you are playing bait and switch? Are you donating directly to them? Are you campaigning for them as an Independent?

Find conservative candidates for 2010 and support them by doing the hard work - canvassing, calling, emailing, putting up signs, volunteering in their offices. If we don't do this Founding Fathers Values will lose AGAIN in 2010 and there will be no hope for 2012. We must turn either the House or the Senate in 2010!

I was one who joined this site on the first wave.

When I joined this site, I thought I was joining a thoughtful group who truly wanted the best for our country. Who truly wanted to change Washington not by abandoning it, or by saying throw the bums out, but by finding and electing people who STAND for something. What I have found instead are people who just want to shout their anger or abandon the existing organizations (parties). Thoughout history the greatest change has come from those who worked to change organizations from within.

I don't believe true success is going to come from playing party name games with bait and switch to scare the powers that be. I believe true success will come from finding and supporting conservative candidates who can contribute to the return to the values of our Founding Fathers that we said we want to see.

Those candidates exist. I plan to find as many as I can, and even if I can only contribute $5 to each one - like Judge Roy Moore in AL, Eddie Adams for Congress from Tampa and Marco Rubio for US Senator from FL - contribute to them directly - not to the big party slush fund.
