Here's the website one would use to get information on a company in the UK: https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-a-compan... - publicly available, searchable from any browser.

In New York state one would use the the department of state, division of corporations website to search for information on an LLC. (Which is why trusts are a better instrument for privacy protection)
