Yeah, pretty much bang on for me Habs. Mikel Obi was utterly magnificent tonight and JT was imperious, a great performance from both, plus Pete looked back to his best.

I'd take Rooney over Torres, simply because he has a bit of Gazza about him, flawed, troubled, but a genius on his day, plus he's English which keeps our ethos of the English spine looking a bit more realistic. Torres, whilst lethal, is too lightweight for the PL game in my view, and whoever gets him will always have to live with injuries, much like we did with Robben. Some players are just made of glass sadly.

Sadly we sat back rather a lot second half and that always worries me because we get sloppy, especially when the plastic surface might have given the odd bounce or two. Having said that, the pitch seemed great - Wembley could do worse than try the same thing.

I thought it was Ashley Cole's worst performance for some time - he looked leggy and I can't recall a forward pass from him of note. Zhirkhov looked good though, as if he wanted to prove a point and well....the goal was magnificent. Anelka was also good - he still holds the ball better than anyone in the league at the moment and despite missing a good chance his finish was all about determination and skill.

However, two absolute stand out performances from John Terry who was superb tonight, and also the marvellous John Mikel Obi who I can best describe as a towering figure of poise welded to skill and calmness. He's learned how to tackle and for me he's doing the Maka role and giving us more forward play. Utterly marvellous from both of them.

I agree, trouble he may well be but boy on his day he's fantastic. Plus it gives us another English name, and he'd get to be with fellow bad boys JT and Ash! Not a group to bump into with your girlfriend or wife!

Not that I care you understand, but hats off to Fergie for his press conference today putting Wayne Rooney in his place. Of course, Wayne, if you fancy wearing a proper blue shirt again rather than a wishy washy version, then The Mighty Blues at Stamford Bridge might be able to help you!

One player worth breaking the bank for even if he is a troubled soul.
