Actually everytime I used redsn0w (or quickpwn) I updated to the official firmware throu iTunes and then ran redsn0w (or, again, quickpwn). I don't need to preserve the baseband since I have a factory unlocked phone, I just need to jailbreak.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll wait for the new redsn0w.
That's not what I meant. I already have a jailbroken 3GS with 3.0.1. Now I want to upgrade to 3.1. Currently redsn0w doesn't support 3.1 so I would have to create a custom firmware using PwnageTool. All the times I had to do this procedure I always restored using the custom firmware, as every guide suggests. Can I simply use option + Update and select the custom firmware, or do I have to necessarily restore? Restoring is kind of a pain...
Quick question. I have a factory unlocked Iphone 3GS. Right now I'm running 3.0.1 and I'd like to update to 3.1. Since there is no redsn0w yet, can I update using a custom firmware? I don't want to restore with the custom firmare, I want to update. Is this possible?
