It's a sad thing when fundamentalists win any election in Egypt or here at home.

This presents a challenge to the Black Community. There are people who know who these kids are. The usual response is to close ranks and not talk to the police. Okay, but this type of action will only feed racists and worsen race relations. If the Black Community doesn't step up and cooperate with the police, don't complain about racism. Don't complain about profiling. How should I feel if a group of Black teens enter my store. Am I profiling if I don't trust them?

Slow down there. We are talking about kids that grew up in this country, that we have already paid to educate. What's your beef with these kids?

I'm thrilled that some of your best friends are Hispanic.

Your analogy is way off. We are talking about the child, not the parent.

It's interesting that Rubio, the favorite of conservatives for VP, supports essentially the same approach. Romney has implied he would not change this policy if elected. Assuming Romney is elected and the right-wing sound machine lines up behind him, all this outrage will disappear. Funny, huh?

This was a good decision. It protects kids who were raised and educated in this country and who have more ties to this country than to anywhere else. After we pay to educate these kids, it is crazy to send them to away. I know you hate Obama and hate Mexicans and hate kids. I guess that's what makes for a proud American these days.

I picked your post to respond to because of your choice of words, "sick at heart." I'm not a politician. I know almost any issue can become complex and politicized. But, "sick at heart?" When I try to decide my positions on issues, I try to look at the actual situation rather than the politics.

So, let's take a kid that was brought here at age 2 and went to school in the US. This child would be more American than Mexican. They might not even speak Spanish. Now, I can still see arguments for not allowing the kid to stay in the US (although I'd support letting her stay), but to say it makes you sick at heart to treat this child with respect is baffling to me. Is your heart really that twisted?

An alternative way to protect our troops is to get out of Afghanistan. How many troops shoulg be killed and injured and how many trillions of our dollars should be wasted. I see no chance of peace. They don't want or appreciate our efforts. Let's just take our ball and go home.

I'm assuming this was in jest, but given the rise of the religious fundamentalists, don't be surprised if this becomes a political issue.

sigh... The only way the vote can change anything is if it ends up denying same-sex couples equal rights. If you are supporting a vote on the issue, by implication you are supporting at least the possibility of denying rights.

Go ahead Pilate, wash your hands.
