Wow, I know I'm echoing a lot of people here, but this really resonated with me and with some of the problems with money in my marriage. Except--TWIST--I'm the tight-fisted one but also the one who grew up in an upper-middle class financially stable family, where my husband has the "it's gonna be OK, don't worry about it" attitude and he grew up in a financially insecure family. And it's hitting especially hard now because I just got laid off from my first really well-paying job that finally gave us a feeling of financial freedom. Now all the old anxieties from the lean times in the past are creeping back in.

Oh man, this is timely. I just unearthed from my closet an "inspired by Le Tigre" sweater I knit about 10 years ago that says "feminist" on it. Back when I had time to make up my own patterns and knit them. This is great!

I am HERE for this conversation. Every year I choose a different color scheme for my gifts. I usually do ones that are kind of off-brand for Christmas, but this year I went traditional and did glossy emerald paper with red and white striped twill tape.

I once mailed a Christmas gift to my parents, and accidentally put my own zip code on it instead of theirs (we live in the same state, but about 200 miles apart), and it made it there fine, I think there might have been a 1 or 2 day delay.

I am also starting a new job that pays me twice as much a week from Monday! High five!

Also, I have been unhappy with the way my body looks for a while now, post childbirth and periods of depression, etc, and I started eating better and have been getting on the treadmill a few times a week for the past couple months and have lost an amount of weight that I am really happy about!

I just feel like my life as a whole is moving in a really positive direction, and that feels great.
