I'm seeing this argument a lot. As a fan of this sub-genre, I share the concern, but really, it doesn't matter. Lots of things get over-saturated in our culture, but does a good piece of work become bad because a different work sucks or is a cash grab? Regardless of how many zombie movies or books or whatever come out, doesn't make World War Z (for example) any less brilliant.

Besides, all good zombie fare isn't really about zombies, but about the human condition. As long as we still get good ones, that's all I care about.

Apparently (as I went over to Netflix to Q this movie), there is another movie titled Zombieland with Brad Dourif!?!

Really, why isn't anyone funding a Del Toro Lovecraft film? Wake up execs!

Interesting idea, but I still prefer casting Martin Freeman.

They were called fellbeasts.

I'm with you (as is, I think, everyone else) on hoping Perlman voices Smaug.

There's a pretty good interview with Ackroyd and Ramis in the latest Playstation magazine. They mostly talk about the game, but there's a little about the possible movie as well.

That's what I was thinking, except I don't think I'd pay for it even if they removed commercials. Why would anyone need this if they've got all the other things you mentioned? Because it's "On demand"?

The Doves "There Goes the Fear". Excellent Brit band.

I'll step out and agree with you. The casting for those movies is wrong, wrong, wrong (except for a few of the minor characters). The second one was the only good one, and in fact, made me care about a villain I always thought was dumb. But the first was was only just passable, and the less said about the third one, the better.

Losing Dunst alone would improve the series. And just one villain this time please. Curt Conners/Lizard.

And I like the Evil Dead series for it's camp value, but DMTH looks awful. Why does Raimi get such a pass from the fan community?

Yes it is. I just hope it doesn't start to get over-used as trailer music after this movie (like Clint Mansell's brilliant stuff).
