Um.... DWM never had a problem with gamer luna herself in the first place.

They even mentioned just making the blog entirely about her as a reasonable compromise.

the DWM movement was suggesting this compromise form day one by the way. Part of their argument was how easy it would be to make the blog not problematic according to them.

Just saying.

Probably a bit of both, as evidence suggests it WAS suspended as well.

My guess is it got suspended and either JJ didn't wanna bother putting it back up because of backlash, he perhaps started to agree with opposition (not impossible considering the shift in emphasis toward gamer luna and away from molestia.) he felt creatively strangled by it and felt obligated to do it and this was his excuse to leave it, or he just wanted to play it off as if he wanted to end it anyway.

My guess is it's a mix of all of those things but what we do know for sure is it wasn't his decision alone.

It's worth noting: not only is the blog closed but the URL has been blacklisted and nobody else can claim it, meaning Tumblr closed it down due to terms of use violation.
