It seems obvious you haven't actually used contraception. If you had, you would be aware of a few things.

1) The pill costs around $8 per month, not $1000 per year. This means there is something else in play.

2) Not all forms of contraception are independent of the frequency of sex. That, or you are under the delusion that condoms are reusable. I strongly suggest you read the directions next time.

3) the testimony in question makes it clear they are discussing people having to give up having SEX because of the cost of CONTRACEPTION.

Perhaps if you could explain how somebody needs $1000 worth of the pill for hormonal therapy, I would take you seriously. As it is, I can agree that someone in this conversation is being stupid, but disagree as to who it is.

Since she wants us to fund her recreational activities, I would appreciate it if she funds my recreational activities. I'm trying to decide whether I should appeal for a grant for paintball supplies (more exercise than sex), or World of Warcraft (more social interaction than sex). I figure the total cost of either should be a little under $1000 per year.

Ultimately, any discussion about the cost of contraception is really a discussion about the cost of purely recreational activity. I think, if we respond to it with "why should I pay for your recreational supplies?" it will start to sink in what they are really asking for.

I'm disappointed, too. He could have used this as a chance to demand that all the libs who insulted conservative women with vile names step up to the plate, first. He could have demanded that NOW attack all the libs who insult conservative women. I already emailed one of his advertisers, telling them they lost my business due to their cowardice.
