Often times if they are released to a "sober family member" they can be let go. A lot of police departments in Dakota County for exaple process the drunk person at the PD and then release them to a family member. This prevents them from having to tie up resources to take them all the way to jail.
It’s absolutely a brave act! They knew this guy would be armed, and they perused him regardless! This man is wanted in over a DOZEN armed robberies! Police are different than citizens in that they can shoot someone to save the life of themselves OR someone else. Certainly if this man escaped he would have performed another armed robbery. Who’s to say this one doesn’t go bad and he ends up killing someone? Or maybe the guy behind him has a gun and kills him? The police did a GREAT job! Their job is to protect the community from thugs like this, and that’s exactly what they did!!
Well first of all, MN was the last state in the country to go to .08, so you’ll find similar guidelines everywhere. Second, he was driving on the wrong side of the road! That’s not “a couple drinks” as you indicated. Yes, I would like him to lose his job, because I think he should be thrown in jail for a while! Call me crazy, but I think that people who decide that it’s okay to endanger the lives of others should be punished!! If you want to go to the bar and get ripped, go for it! Just plan a ride home. It’s EASY!! There is NO excuse for a DWI.
Hopefully he's about to become Ex-chief Babbitt! The FAA doesn't need people like that making decisions. Mr. Babbit has just shown us his inability to make good decisions. Put someone in charge who actually deserves the position!
The protesters put up their tents even though they KNEW it was illegal, which forced the police to take action. Yet they call this a “peaceful protest”. I see how this works, we just add the word ‘peaceful’ in front of the action. Like “I’m going to go peacefully disturb the peace”. Do these misfits have an address listed on their website so MPD and the Hennepin County Sheriff know where to send the bill?
Very much agreed! I don’t care if they want to protest, but they aren’t even doing it to “educate the public”. Like I mentioned in a previous post, my wife got obscenities yelled at her when she left work at US Bank. She’s not their so called “1%”. She’s a working grunt like ¾ of the people there! She didn’t deserve that! They are not down there informing the public of their cause, they are not offering solutions, they are just down there chanting, defying laws, causing traffic disruptions, trashing public property, and waiting for the news crews to come back again so they can get the attention that they so desperately seek. Having tents down there SHOULD be illegal! I don’t want to see that garbage when I go downtown, and neither does “99%” of Minnesota!
My wife works at US Bank and has not had the same luck you have! She has been yelled at, cussed, and and feels uncomfortable to the point where she takes the skyways now. That is NOT peaceful! Yes, they do have a right to be there! To peacefully protest! That is not at all what they are doing! Their tent party tonight is even more proof that "peace" is not on their agenda!
That’s the problem we have with them techy, it’s that they are NOT peacefully protesting!!! I don’t know if you read the story above, but they are going to put up tents tonight! An action that they know very well is illegal, and will have a NON PEACEFUL outcome!!! They block roads, slow down traffic, shout at people walking by and make them feel uncomfortable. That again is NOT PEACEFUL!!! About 3 weeks ago they stood in the way of an ambulance with its lights and siren on which was on its way with a patient to HCMC. That is NOT PEACEFUL!!! Like I said above, if they want to protest and have rally’s, that’s fine! But when these activities affect people who want nothing to do with this, that is NOT PEACEFUL!!!!!
I hope they arrest at least as many tonight in Minneapolis with their little tent campaign! Sorry i'm going to miss it, but I HAVE TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
