Most Hollywood actors - especially the younger ones, don't have a clue about anything that goes on in the real world. They live in their own little bubble. The reason they vote liberal and constantly bash Conservatives in interviews, blogs, etc. is because they believe it is the "hip" and "in" thing to do in order to be accepted by their peers. If they say anything positive about Republicans or Conservatives they will be blacklisted and will not get any work in future films. It is my personal belief that most entertainers over the age of 30 are probably conservative in a lot of their social and financial views, but are too afraid to admit it. It is more important to them that they get invited to Hollywood parties than it is to stand up for their views.
As for those Somali pirates, get Michael Phelps to swim out there, go under the boat, tip it over, drown the pirates, and swim like a dolphin with the American captain on his back as he returns to our Navy ship. Problem - Solution.

Connie, Amen to all your comments - but they may be better suited for the 12-VALUES forum. The VENT forum is generally for letting off steam about the economy, politics, etc. That being said ... you most definitely have my support. Without God, America would be just another third-world garbage dump.
