Order,
It was my honor and privelige to serve our Country, and no one can take that from me!
Sweating the small stuff seems to be the province of the young. With we old farts, not sweating the small stuff results from having too many other things to sweat!

aynwrong,

It's distressing to see that you are still around stinking up the place with your platitudes, red herrings, misintrepretations, camouflages, high-horse atitude, and all around lack of understanding of events. How do you explain your low score relative to the mass of posts you have regurgitated?

Funny site! The only problem is that I dfo not know the meaning of all the acronyms they use.

Each branch of the service has its persons of a "need to know" status. They all revolve around the mess troops, supply section, and headquarters section.

My MOS's while I was in the Corps (1963/1974) were: 2533 (radio-telegraph operator), 5949 (radar technician), and 5979 (Marine Tactical Data Systems technician). I see that those designators are no longer used and I do not know what they are nowdays. As I mentioned in another post, I spent a tour in RVN as a Tactical Air Control team as a radio operator. We all tried our best to keep our corpsman in sight, if possible!

BTW, Thank You for your service................

Your'e very welcome, Fortis. It's nice to have civil discourse on any forum, even if one must sort throug the majority of young, immature, self-righteous children.

So, the General does not have the right to his opinion? Why, because he disagrees with you? Are you Obama writing with elpolako as your screen name? You exhibit every bad trait of liberals of which I'm aware, right out of the dem/lib/lefty mold. Plus, let me guess you are around fifteen or sixteen yrs. old, right? If not, you missed a good chance to be...............

How the hell do you know that ".....there doesn't seem to be a problem..."? If there is a problem, I think it's being kept to a minium by the DADT philosophy.

"Hundred thousand estimated gays in the military"???? You've been smoking too much weed or are a product of today's public education system. That figure seems to have been pulled from your southern regions...................
All in all, you are a very foolish person!

Order66,
During my 12 yrs in the Marine Corps, after many trips over many sea miles, I developed a deep respect for the U.S. Navy, not to mention the many, many, hands of Pinochle!

We did, as you know, worship our corpsmen. Anyone who has been in combat learns right away who yell for if wounded, as the corpsman will save his life if possible. They are the best. At our batallion reunions, there is always a group of Marines around our corpsmen; they are our brothers.

BTW, Thank you to all who have served our country!

You sound like someone who is not at all happy with who you are. I, forexample, would greatly prefer to be around people like me (exactly or otherwise), than people like you.

I suppose it would be useless to ask about your military service, correct? BTW, what country do you claim, and would that country claim you???

QUOTE: "...........the rest of NATO has figured out how to handle it...!

Fortis,
Some of the countries in NATO which have "figured it out" also approve of hard drug use, child molestation, and other abberant behaviors that the largest majority of citizens in OUR country find totally unacceptable.

I can think of several very good arguments against gays serving in the military, and my twelve years in the U.S.M.C. qualify me to speak with some authority on the matter. In one sentence, gays openly serving is contrary to order and discipline, and accomplishment of the mission of our armed forces.

Research what has transpired in the U.S Navy regarding stationing females on ships. I forget the rating percentage, but numerous ships' efficiency have been severly compromised due to pregnancies and other male/female issues.

The U.S. Military is no place for "social engineering"!

BTW, congrats on your commissioning and thank you for your service to our country!

No matter how hard you try to get around it, as Sir Isaac Newton put it: F = M x A. This accident could have been a real tragedy had not the center bridge abutment prevented this idiot from impacting the oncoming traffic on the other side of the freeway. I spent eight years as a traffic accident investigator in Utah, and this is the most devastating result of an accident that I have ever seen. Sad thing is, this imbecile will be driving again, and probably sooner rather than later!
