You've just inspired me--how do you think it would look as a scarf?

Thank you Nicole, Mallory, Nikki, Marco, Roxanne, The Bartender (whose identity we shall continue to ponder), and everyone. Thank you contributors, and commenters, and donators, and people who clicked on ads. Thank you comment wranglers, and Toast Post coordinators, and meetup coordinators, and everyone who made this a community.

I shall now take to the sea, with a Slack connection (just sent the email) and the drive to proclaim the good news of intersectional feminism and Ignoring Male Opinion Whenever Practical.

Good day, and good luck.

Ugh. Yeah. The "teens learn a language from a world away" does feel like hipster appropriation.

Does this mean that linguists/activists who want to preserve endangered languages should go directly to teenagers and promote $Endangered_Language$ as "you can talk to your friends about shit and your parents/teachers won't understand more than a few isolated words"? Now I'm envisioning a world where teenagers pick up languages used in small pockets halfway across the world as a way of being fashionable and excluding the uncool from conversations.

Wait, that sounds like why British public schools taught Latin long after the rest of the world [modulo the Roman Catholic Church, which only a small portion of British public school pupils and teachers belonged to anyway] gave it up.

I thought Thatcher was pro-Europe? (Say what you will about her politics--and were I British I'd have a lot to say--but her multi-flag jumper was pretty ace.)

They go up to a woman's US size 24 and a man's US size 50. This is not a drill.

Do you think Angela Merkel is listening to this on loop?
