When someone says, "I disagree with you because ________" I only put the anus on them if they want me to. But when someone says, "omg your idea is stupid" I generally lead with the anus.

I posted links to two different articles, but I think we all know anyways that drastic action is needed immediately to prevent or at least minimize catastrophic climate change.

This current government will not only not do that, their stated agenda is to implement policies that will hasten catastrophic climate change.

A coalition of independent blue states could actually do something. Worst case, the threat of it could at least force the Red Fed government to do something.

Maybe, but I think it's worth discussing. Extreme options have to at least be discussed if there's any chance of scaring the opposition into action.

Frankly, I don't fully support secession as much as I fully support the idea of it and the conversation around it. The only reason I'm even defending it as vigorously as I am is because you're the third person to have a differing opinion and the first of those three to not be a dick about it.

Texas wanted to secede because a black guy was present.

My argument for secession is that the survival of our planet and species depends on immediate drastic action.

Yes, 2016 is just like 1860 in so many ways. Totally the same thing, you guys.

If you read anything at all about global warming. Any entry level beginner stuff whatsoever, you'd know that WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO WAIT FOR OUR TURN TO FIX IT.

Once it's broke, it's broke. There ain't no puttin' that shit back together. And the truth is, it's probably already broke. But if we wait for four years of a Trump presidency with every single branch of government controlled by Tea Partiers or where Mitch McConnell is the most progressive guy in the room, there is no probably.

I don't know about you, but I have kids. I'd prefer they grow up on a planet where they can walk outside and where they won't have skyscrapers sticking out of their oceans.
