Constitution:

"Does this give any new power? I say not."

Alexander Hamilton would say it did when he argued for creating a National Bank. He actually cited the clause in his written defense of the National Bank. Now who is right, Hamilton or Nichols? Both are right. That's the issue with this Clause. It's open to interpretation by everyone. You reply is valid but is no more valid than any other person's OPINION of this clause. Therefore Obama and the Dems see is necessary and proper to pass health care legislation.

I had fun playing! Where's my prize for winning?!

Indeed. I'm in education.

You deduced that much about my economic knowledge based on a four word statement? And you think I'm ignorant?! FYI I work for a university that is very very far from bankrupt. We were caring on a civil discussion until you decided to personally attack and talk down to me. Why is that? Do you normally hold contempt for those who don't see things the way you do?

The excuse that Bush's tax cuts were bad because they mostly went to the rich is a weak criticism. Legitimate, but weak. Bill Gates didn't get rich by hoarding pay checks. He did it by investing (growing business, creating jobs). Although the money from tax cuts could have been used for other purposes, I don't think the rich were hiding the tax cuts under their mattresses to screw the middle class.

I like the idea of controlling pollution but Cap and Trade appears like a system too susceptible to being manipulated and abused by corporations. Plus I think it allows for commodity trading. Makes about as much sense as investing in a dot.com company.

Tax cuts and the military invasion into Afghanistan are TWO things that I applaud Bush for.

Hmmm, he could be becoming "one of them" or he knows that covering this story the way you all want him to would only appeal to the handful of cooks that frequent this site. Which one is the more rational answer....uh, perhaps that's not a question you all should be answering.

Yeah!!! He doesn't buy into our vast right wing conspiracies about Obama being an impostor trying to topple our democracy! Who needs him? Well...maybe the vast majority of sane Americans.

That's mean, probably true but mean
