That is quite a good write-up, Welsh_Halfwit.

The thing I always told people that I really liked about B5 was the ongoing story and character development and almost complete lack of 'fluffy' and neat "We win because we are the good guys" episode wrap-ups . Unlike most other SF shows, the characters grew and changed as events changed them and the universe they were part of. It was full of long term plots and consequences unlike say S.T. where, as you said, things just reset after each story. I suspect this was the only way the DS9 writers were able to convince the franchise to allow the growing darker and longer plot stories they developed later in the series (although there was talk of DS9 being partially steered by their studio's prior (late 80s) access to the proposed B5 main storyline) It also allowed shows like Farscape to get off the ground in an industry where SF is treated as a 'soft serve' most of the time.

Actually, this had a fair chance of happening as you could substitute Jacob or Vincent for Kaitlyn or Ursula and I suspect you'd have the same issue... Ms M has been misled by the usual mass chaos and forgot for a moment that she has a fair number who are inherently 'good' kids.

Yup, not rigging the draw has presented Ms M with an unexpected moral dilemma by ending up with the Three Goods in one group. She has rigged the whole assignment process to favour the 'drive to win at all costs' instincts of many of the group but has ended with a sub-group who when put together would be more likely to sacrifice their own chance to win for a friend rather than sacrifice a friend for a chance to win...

And yes, these three are in my top 5 favourite characters....

Unfortunately, Ms M specified that they do the assignment "individually" and then each group's individual submissions are to be compared for a winner. This eliminates a group submission.

Difference in perspective:-

Bud is looking for the half empty glass in a sea of full glasses...

Ah, you miss the true artistic talent Achilles Heel... Self Doubt. There is a theory that deep down, no matter how successful a quality artist is or how expansive their ego seems to be... at the core is a small child who forever is in awe of those they look up to and who never truly believes that they are a 'true artist' of any value.
There is also a theory that when ever an artist looses that child then they cease to be an artist and become something far less....

Anyways, this I reckon is the harshest and most psyche taunting one so far.... this is the one that goes from funny to almost cruel with the fraud line.... as you said, Kaitlyn is the most likely to feel the worst from this....
Eh, it is too late and I shall stop my sleep deprived thoughts here...

An angry Jacob... who'd a thunk it?

Crapola... I'm old enough to remember those coloured stars and moon bulbs from the 80s....

Ursula and Vincent can be scary-cute at the best of times... and this strip it is sending me off to my quack for a diabetes test...

Jam filled doughnuts.... better than an apple for teacher any day! (mind you, Drop Dead Donuts? That is an advertisers nightmare)

Hmmmm.... will we get to find out the 'secret' of Yvette's 'evil' side? Although what could be in there must be of a reasonably disturbing nature since it can be regarded as 'worse' than smoking..... or is it just that like all parents, she knows just how to embarrass her children all too well.... we'll just have to wait and see if Chrispy is ever going to tell us. Oh, Candy, I do hope your briefcase is lead lined and even then I am not sure it could contain the pure evil of being a lawyer! ;-)

On a side note, I still find it interesting that our quiet little Yvette has such rumbustious parents....

Reminds me of two stickers my brother had on his old Hilux "I just do what my RiceBubbles tell me to" and a bit below that was "You're just jealous because all the little voices are talking to me"

Strangely he got some odd looks from other people.... especially if they came across his campsites in the outback....
