IW, How about you approach the heads of STI Lilyfield, CDM, Snap, Sands, SOS, BHB, Finsbury, Pegasus (to name just a few) and see if they will share their experiences with the different manifestations of Max and in turn (if honest and forthcoming) may give you a flavour of the the buying principles of Max at work. They were all good enough to find Max on their own accord; then they qualified as top tier suppliers (in some cases up against BS and GEON during qualification) and appear to be happy competing and winning work at sustainable (albeit competitive) margins. If you are good enough you will find Max and keep Max as a loyal client(s). If you choose to deny that Max's principles actually work then you are probably disenfranchised somewhat by your ongoing dealings with less desireable print buyers. WE wish you well Bro :-) Adios

IW, thanks for the qualified support. My approach suggests the best competing against the best - so (1)first qualify to be the best and (2)then compete for work on the basis of being the best of the best - price, quality, service and (3)if successful in steps 1 and 2 then you will win work. Max IS a collective voice - so you won't need to search too hard to stumble across a MaxDebater :-) ......We're waiting Androod :-)

Androod, hilarious comment given that your 'belt' knows no depth :-) BTW the smile at the end of my comments suggest humour not angst.

Yo Inky, as I said in my previous comment (and unfortunately Androod selectively missed it AGAIN!!) - there is nothing vaporous or phantasmagorical about a print buyer taking the time to check out a few financial indicators that will suggest whether a top tier supplier is 'waving or drowning'. In his infinite 'cut & paste' wisdom Androod left out my last sentence ..."Whilst not absolute, you will get a sense of who the dogs with the least fleas are." As I have said before, the best thing for a print buyer is to get their best top tier suppliers competing with each other and minimise dealing with financially unviable laggards. This aint consulting Bro - it's common sense and a fundamental responsibility for print buyers :-) This approach supports the use of well run businesses (I am assuming) like yours.

Androod, I hope you do not subscribe to print buyers cutting corners with regards to supplier panel assessments :-)
