Update 11/06/2013 3:55pm: According to a City of Hoboken source the current count actually has the No votes up by 50-60. The initial numbers given to NJ.com which was my source had three voting precincts where the numbers were either transposed or improperly counted. This is potentially good news for tenant advocates and bad news for vacancy decontrol advocates. Again this numbers are informational only. The final results won't likely be until Friday when the provisional ballots are tallied.
Here is the link to my source:
The technique I use for producing many of my photos but not all is HDR which stands for High Dynamic Range. It is actually at least 3 images at different exposures that are merged to give the photo more visual pop or range. I use a software tool called Photomatix Pro to process the three images into one. One of my favorite effects produces a painterly effect that is indeed present in the two photos above. If you google the term HDR you will find many photos using that technique not only in this area but worldwide.
As for why I do this technique, I like it as it creates more than just a photo. Not everyone one is a fan of HDR and I am still learning but feedback for some of my better photos has been positive and I have even sold a few of these. To me they are more visually interesting than a iPhone or normal photo and take more time to create.
