Not at all, and I am sorry! It's that I continue to see these types of comments, that have nothing to do with the actual story or the debate. Either for or against.

So, again, I apologize. I didn't mean to be rude.

As I said, I totally see your point, but you are not seeing mine.

The "should" or "what ifs" do not apply to this. The government IS involved with marriage. So, having a comment about what the government should do, or what if they weren't involved in marriage doesn't come in to play with this topic. That issue is not up for a vote.

So yes, this comment is off topic. That is the only point I am trying to make.

I never said anything remotely like that.

I haven't been to a gay pride parade in over 10 years, mainly because I don't like the fact that society only sees us like "that"

I don't agree with the naked bike riders either, but I would never call them "freaks"!

Thats the problem with your post. Calling people freaks, when they are just different than you

I totally see your point, but let me ask you this one question....

Is the government involved with marriage? Its just a yes or no question. No what ifs, no it should be this way. Plain and simple.

Yeah for you!!! You don't care!!!

However, much of society does care and being gay is still taboo!

Freaks???

All gay people at Gay Pride parades are freaks?

Sure, there are some that stand out over the rest, but to call them freaks is quite rude.

Why dont you reach out to some of the gay people in the parade and actually get to know them. You may find that they are just like every day people.

Chickygirl is 100% correct. Should gay people have to stand up to the world and announce that we are gay? Of course not, just as you shouldn't have to. But, in today's world, its just the way it is.

While I applaud you and your way of thinking, the rest of the world has not caught up to you.

I completely agree with your statement above. I am a gay Christian and understand the frustration!

States will continue to do what they think their citizens want, regardless of the constitution. It is up to the Supreme Court to protect the constitution, which is what they have done. Why they havent changed the constitution? I dont know why. Maybe because they give us more credit than what we should have.

And you do realize that this issue is already going to the Supreme Court? Just not fast enough in my opinion!

Also, marriage is not by its definition about religion and the states nor the government view it as such. Do people view it as a religious ceremony, yes...do the states or government see it as such? No.

So, no....you should not have the right to vote on civil rights. This is not a religious issue, this is not a moral issue, this is a plain and simple civil rights issue.

Allowing homosexuals to marry is going to allow destruction of the culture/society?

Crap, planning a wedding is tough enough!!
