So, again, I apologize. I didn't mean to be rude.

The "should" or "what ifs" do not apply to this. The government IS involved with marriage. So, having a comment about what the government should do, or what if they weren't involved in marriage doesn't come in to play with this topic. That issue is not up for a vote.
So yes, this comment is off topic. That is the only point I am trying to make.

I haven't been to a gay pride parade in over 10 years, mainly because I don't like the fact that society only sees us like "that"
I don't agree with the naked bike riders either, but I would never call them "freaks"!
Thats the problem with your post. Calling people freaks, when they are just different than you

Is the government involved with marriage? Its just a yes or no question. No what ifs, no it should be this way. Plain and simple.

However, much of society does care and being gay is still taboo!

All gay people at Gay Pride parades are freaks?
Sure, there are some that stand out over the rest, but to call them freaks is quite rude.
Why dont you reach out to some of the gay people in the parade and actually get to know them. You may find that they are just like every day people.

While I applaud you and your way of thinking, the rest of the world has not caught up to you.

And you do realize that this issue is already going to the Supreme Court? Just not fast enough in my opinion!
Also, marriage is not by its definition about religion and the states nor the government view it as such. Do people view it as a religious ceremony, yes...do the states or government see it as such? No.
So, no....you should not have the right to vote on civil rights. This is not a religious issue, this is not a moral issue, this is a plain and simple civil rights issue.
