I agree with this video completely. The only sales that really matter anymore are ones coming from first party games and Nintendo not only have the strongest sales in that regard when it comes to the Wii U and 3DS (pokemon x/y:12M, MK7:10M, MK8:4.6M), but Nintendo also releases more first party titles per year than Sony and Microsoft do collectively. When Nintendo has both quality and quantity on their side, it's pretty obvious whose in a more stable position financially.
Am I the only one who doesn't notice a drought? I mean yes, the other platforms have more games releasing in the same time period, but that doesn't mean the Wii U is in a "drought" IMO.
The PS Vita is by far the best console to date and this is just adding to what is already a library filled with high quality content. Try saying that with a straight face.
Smash bros. is obviously a fps. You Nintendo fans are just too blind to see it.
Every genre Nintendo touches turns to gold and Splatoon will be another example of that.
So instead of making the PS4 backwards compatible they come up with this? For $20 a month ($240/yr) It would cost less in the long run to just buy a ps3 and actually own your games. I can see if your someone who doesn't own a ps3 to get this for maybe 3 months or so, but other that that I don't see the point. Netflix gives me access to almost all tv shows and movies both recent and old for only $8 per month. When they add ps2 games and ps1 games and if they lower the price, then I can see myself on board with this project, but as it stands right now, I don't see much value in this.
I can't wait for this game to release. The Wii U is about to have another great year with this game along with Zelda, Starfox, Xenoblade and many more.
I don't consider them in the same category or part of the same series. Mario has many different series (kart, party etc.) in addition he has his main series (Sunshine, Galaxy etc.). Mario Party may not be a canon Mario title, but it is still a Mario game with Mario and company being the main focus. If Bill Trinen is refering to the main series of Mario, then he is correct since the latest one is Super Mario 3D World.
I don't consider Smash a new Mario game because it is a crossover between all Nintendo characters, however I do consider Mario Kart and Party new Mario games as the titles suggest. They are not part of the main series, but are still technically Mario games. What makes them different from smash is that Smash could still exist without Mario and company, but you can't have Mario Party or Kart without Mario and company. So yes, they did not release a new canon Mario game this year, but a Mario game nonetheless.
"We don’t have a new Mario game this year". What about Mario Party 10? I know it's not part of the main series, but it's still a new Mario game.
