The only sales that really matter anymore are ones coming from first party games and Nintendo not only have the strongest sales in that regard when it comes to the Wii U and 3DS (pokemon x/y:12M, MK7:10M, MK8:4.6M), but Nintendo also releases more first party titles per year than Sony and Microsoft do collectively. When Nintendo has both quality and quantity on their side, it's pretty obvious whose in a more stable position financially. Netflix gives me access to almost all tv shows and movies both recent and old for only $8 per month. When they add ps2 games and ps1 games and if they lower the price, then I can see myself on board with this project, but as it stands right now, I don't see much value in this. Mario has many different series (kart, party etc.) in addition he has his main series (Sunshine, Galaxy etc.). Mario Party may not be a canon Mario title, but it is still a Mario game with Mario and company being the main focus. They are not part of the main series, but are still technically Mario games. What makes them different from smash is that Smash could still exist without Mario and company, but you can't have Mario Party or Kart without Mario and company. So yes, they did not release a new canon Mario game this year, but a Mario game nonetheless.
