You are assuming that the only good job is a union job. That myth is being dismantled by the ACORN-SEIU revelations in the news.
These unions have been wage parasites that then used the money to elect government representatives who have gone on to make promises that are impossible to honor.
The OPEU has been getting future $ in promises all along, know we see that the accounts are running dry. The previous Dems have been building a house of cards for years and now it's coming down.
The state of Oregon can not continue making bigger commitments with a declining tax base. When the businesses are gone, the private employees are gone, the mortgage payments don't get made and yet by some magic the Dems in Oregon think that you can get blodd from stones with empty pockets.
We need a problem solver with math skills, I don't know who that is. It's not DeFazio, he wants everyone to look at AIG and be enraged while he ignores the Fannie/Freddie messes that are as big or bigger. That's the dishonesty we can no longer accept in any office.

We need the runoff provision to be available ASAP. Otherwise we end up with the votes split in odd ways that result in situations like Al Franken. Oregon needs to has NEW voices of leadership and Common Sense on the levers of power. Kitzhaber & Kulingoski have both pushed this state to the brink of economic extinction.

I'm hoping that a thorough investigation of ACORN is just moments away.

Mr. Radtke fond of cheese, he refers to rats and I hope that more of the traps are sprung to take this web of corruption apart, piece by piece.

Hopefully teachers and nurse in SEIU are disgusted by what they saw when ACORN employees where coaching the trafficking of children. These people are mandatory reporters under most states laws and at the very least should have the inclination to put children ahead of the twisted objectives of their corrupt union.

I don't think I could live with myself if I knew that $ taken from my check was being deployed for these purposes through these organizations.

Hopefully this piece will shove Congress into action with hearings, investigations and pop the "bubble" of protection that has surrounded ACORN for so long.

There is no soul in a person who will stand by or facilitate the trafficking of children in sex trades, any race, any country.

I want to see the who raises their head up above the fray to speak for the 'children' ...... I hope I don't hear the crickets.

I attended the meeting in Junction City this morning. The crowd was 10 times larger that the groups I had seen at previous town halls. Rep DeFazio commented on the legislation that is currently in the house, so his comments are only applicable to the bills in their current form.

Since there is no single piece of legislation being considered, it is very convenient for our Congressional delegation to side step any question.

I do believe that they understand that the level of public concern is at a level unprecedented in their terms of service to the taxpayers of Oregon.

While I am very thankful that Rep DeFazio continues to have town halls, I'm not convinced that the people attending are being taken seriously. He hears the comments, but do his actions indicate that he is listening and looking for simpler solutions to problems at a district or national level?

Speaking for myself, as I would to my grandchildren and neighbors, there is much potential improvement or political bungling in the works in the halls of Congress............"Study the issues, verify your facts at the source and voice your opinion cogently to your representatives, they work for their constituents."

I appreciate the fact that there is a resident of our district who is willing to stand up, file and run for the seat. Hopefully there will be civility and mutual respect between the candidates as they discuss ISSUES and IDEAS.

So far, all I see is paperwork that wasn't filled out. If anything a documentation offense that can be remedied with a pencil or a keyboard. Pretty sure at one time or another I have paid a relative for some service.......like my brother working on my car, OH MY!

Trying to make a chicken out of a pile of feathers isn't worth the effort, but it may be very telling if this is what Peter DeFazio's supporters are most worried about.

I'm willing to listen to Mr Mayor, if I feel he would be able to serve the interests of the 5th District, he may have my vote.....or not.

I hope everyone studies their choices and exercises their right to vote.

Glad you can make it to DC. We all have local opportunities to get to those town halls. We need to encourage participation in every available opportunity AND adjust to push back on the MSM and DNC detratcors.

I posted the following suggestion elsewhere & sent it to Glenn for consideration:

We need to shift our behavior to shut down the MOB description.
With mouths covered with one hand, give a thumbs down with the other. An opinion given without the interruption.

Either that our make up hand fans to hold up. Boooooo! on one side, Hissssss! on the other.

The DNC is busy trying to generate a label of town hall participants being angry out of control shout -down angry mobs. We can create a very powerful visual and let the fools prattle on. We can take the DNC strategy and change our behavior to a more powerful message.

Refusal to print is only one step. My local paper has limits on written submissions for print. No sucjh restrictions for the online versions or the commentary to their editorials and articles.

Post on a related article or tailor your post to be related to the article within the boundaries of the terms and conditions for the sitae and you will be successful. Post on several publications to reach EVERYONE.

We are looking for converts to common sense. We are reviving the interest and dedication to our constitution. Even though there are no "marching orders" from any organizing authority; an informed electorate is one of the vital elements needed to save our republic.
