The crowd was 10 times larger that the groups I had seen at previous town halls. Rep DeFazio commented on the legislation that is currently in the house, so his comments are only applicable to the bills in their current form. Since there is no single piece of legislation being considered, it is very convenient for our Congressional delegation to side step any question. I do believe that they understand that the level of public concern is at a level unprecedented in their terms of service to the taxpayers of Oregon. While I am very thankful that Rep DeFazio continues to have town halls, I'm not convinced that the people attending are being taken seriously. He hears the comments, but do his actions indicate that he is listening and looking for simpler solutions to problems at a district or national level? This may be a task to be done by the people who are not financially able to get to a rally and are looking for the things they can do.
