DM now in competition with the Guardian - given the online Indy is also trying to muscle in on that sector, the DM will have to up its game if the last 2 day's Front Pages are anything to go by.
Not a lot of customers out there for that sort of journalism.

The only way now - May has to go and go quickly.

See Guido is reporting Stephen Woolfe's application to rejoin the Tories has been accepted

5 years ago @ http://www.conservativ... - Newslinks for Monday 3... · 4 replies · +1 points

According to Guido, the SNP has more members than the Tories, and the Conservatives are third in the UK party membership numbers.

Cameron started the rot - but Brandon Lewis has a lot to answer for, as do the out of touch elite calling for members to be carefully vetted to ensure they do not taint the Party with support for Brexit.

I am understand there are those who have considering joining, who like me worked hard during the Brexit campaign - but now know its not worth it because they would not be accepted.
However the Campaign against Boris, for his letterbox comments has also given many pause for thought.

Has CCHQ and the Party management gone bonkers - or is it being restructured as a Remain stronghold for politically correct snowflakes.

Couldn't agree more - yes Boris has flaws, but so does everybody.

Boris would bring colour, vision, focus and energy to the leadership role - he will of course be subject to press harassment, but a large swathe of the public will support him.
He has a vast pool of talent to draw on to fill ministerial roles - and, I'm sure, would clear out the unelected "Advisors" like Olly Robbins who are running things and doing so much damage.

The press is already damaged, not trusted. - TV pundits in particular the BBC are seen as biased and plugging their own agenda and Propaganda. So attacks on Boris will not do him any harm.

Understand applicants for membership who favour Brexit are to be considered unacceptable.

It seems the infiltration CCHQ is concerned about are Leavers, including perhaps those who support a less PC more straight speaking open approach, returning to the fold.

The last people CCHQ or the clique currently managing the party want joining, are those strongly opposing EU membership or who are likely to support Boris.

Someone should explain in a FPTP democracy, For a Party to win and election and obtain a working majority in the House, That Party has to be a broad church, you also have to be in tune with the electorate.

Suggest you write back to your MP and tell him troops do not have a carte blanche but are probably the most regulated and supervised in any of the worlds military, with any unauthorised action being investigated and where necessary punished, immediately after.

But that is not what is happening here - in NI it is a State organised witch hunt with every action or incident, including deaths involving British Troops being trawled through and re-investigated by a Team of Police - we have hundreds of veterans living under the pressures of being questioned and harassed for years on end, the few who are brought to trial are indited often only on the verbal evidence of the enemy .

All the while IRA and Loyalist Murderers are free to live normal lives without the threat of investigation for their crimes.

It now seems the Government are trying to start a similar witch hunt over events during the Cyprus emergency.

It seems we have lost the plot big time

The Government lawyers appear to want to have a break from harassing our Veterans who served in Northern Ireland - now turned there attention to the Cyprus Emergency in the 50's and 60's

It was 60 years ago, the Veterans will be in their 80's - and will have difficulty remembering events in sufficient detail to be able to defend themselves in any court action.

As the whole exercise appears to be just to humiliate those who served our county, being unable to defend themselves won't matter. - but it will importantly make sure anyone else who was foolish enough to sign up to serve will be worried. That is probably part of the game plan.

Isn't there anyone in May's Government who can put a stop to this nonsense.

Can you imagine Boris's response to that suggestion.

But if true, shows Lewis recognises he is in trouble - but trying to carry on as if he still has authority.
Think he is finished - however if he hangs on, he has lost credibility and his ambitions to replace May, dead.
