If Davidson County has already received grants for this expense that Rowan has known about for some time, why hasn't Rowan County applied for the same grants already? Why wait until AFTER we vote for the increase?

160 beds? We need much more than that. If we are going to spend tax money building a new jail, why don't we plan ahead so that we don't face the overcrowding issue again in ten years?

Mr. Vanderburg, I agree with you whole-heartedly. Emergency personnel have been complaining about this intersection for years, and nothing USEFUL is being done about it. The DOT representative was told at the meeting that stop signs will not be effective. If anything, it is going to cause more collisions. Old Beatty Ford Rd traffic will assume it is safe to proceed, while Old Concord Rd traffic will likely fly right through the intersection. I urge you to contact the State yourself and voice your concern.
