This seems to be a box ticking exercise by the PSNI. To convict Adams they need live witnesses to present themselves at his trial and that is not going to happen. A question mark hangs over the admissability of the tapes especially if those that made them are dead and the Price confession is full of "maybes". Whatever people may think of Adams, it has to be proven that he is guilty otherwise we're no better than the thugs who murdered Mrs McConville.
I totally agree Ox and it appears to me that they are quite selective on these issues chosing at times to support UK legislation regarding health or education while rejecting it when it suits them. How can a political system like that survive?
What has religious scripture got to do with this? What business do politicians have quoting Biblical texts in a debate about equal rights for all?

On the one hand they position themselves as moral guardians, while often supporting and at times encouraging bigotry and sectarian violence. They represent a community that is so insecure, it has lost all compassion. What horrible thing is going to happen if same-sex marriage is made legal here? Floods? Pestilence? Do we have to be guided by these psychotic notions?
They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
"I condemn without reservation the senseless attack on the East Belfast Alliance Party office. No cause ever advanced by such criminality." - Robinson.
This isn't a cause. It's just intimidation and bully-boy tactics.
Why are men making decisions about abortion anyway? It's none of their business. Same with gay relationships. What exactly is the problem? Quoting some old text written thousands of years ago is a ridiculous argument to make.
I can't see the connection between pub opening hours and Good Friday/Easter Sunday. Why do we still have these archaic licensing laws with people being forced to conform to Christian principles they have absolutely no interest in?
"Police said they are still investigating a motive."
Erm...surely that should have taken no more than about 5 seconds.
I see also that from today they have abolished the travel tax so flights to Dublin are now cheaper. Meanwhile, In NI...
