So, I'm reading the very first few verses in 1 Peter, and I'd love some insight from someone a little more knowledgable in scripture. I have a good knowledge of what the Bible says, but this is more of a theological question that I'm sure has many, many different opinions (I've emailed my pastor to ask his insight as well). We all know that Israel was God's chosen nation/people in the Old Testament. But, in the New Testament, with the crucifixion of Christ and the new covenant, is Israel still the chosen nation or has the church and the scattering of believers across the world replaced them and lead the Church (body of Christ's believers) to become those chosen people? I was wondering because we, as Christians will never permanently be destroyed through the gift of eternal life, but I'm not an expert in eschatology so I was curious what some others thought. :)

Excellent tips and advice on breaking into advertising! I agree wholeheartedly that "making something is better than making nothing!"

I'm sorry. If I'd know that this was the thing that had you bummed out domestically, I would have shared that secret much earlier. :-) I too, wash dishes after every single meal. Takes less than 15 minutes usually, including the nights I cook big meals. I think another common sense thing that I learned from my Grandmother and my mom is that the best way to dust furniture and keep it from just scattering and landing somewhere else, is to use something like Pinesol and warm water. I keep a few rags that are strictly for cleaning. I usually dust on the same days I mop that way I can do all of the Pinesol stuff at one time. The Pinesol smells fabulous and the water actually grabs the dust so it doesn't fly everywhere. The Swivel Sweeper also saved my sanity from having to sweep my floor 8,000 times a day. Just turn that baby on and it takes less than 3 minutes to do the whole floor. :-)

I agree. While I believe that a blog does need to be appealing to the eye [easy to read, no harsh and bright colors] it doesn't have to have a fancy layout, an expensive designer, and a custom facelift to attract readers. Blogging is about READING...if you write the content THEN they will come.

Amen!! What a great way to put that! And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's weirded out by the "woman" thing!

Thanks girl!! I thank my husband and my little boy for the encouragement and for helping me reach this point of contentment. I couldn't do it without them. I hope that if nothing else comes from this, that [like you mentioned] my son will grow up confident and secure in who he is. :-)

Haha! For some reason I figured that would make you laugh. Because it did me when I reread this post this morning. YOU my friend, are fabulous! Thanks for the extra boost of encouragement this morning. I agree with you wholeheartedly...somewhere between marriage and children, we all realize [well MOST of us...the ones who decide to GROW UP] that some things just aren't worth worrying about. Love ya, BFF! Don't ever forget what an amazing mom, wife, friend and lady you are either!

I can give credit to my husband as well. What is it about those guys that bring us out? ;-) And I too am glad to know that I'm not alone in having felt like this. I think most of us [even those who pretend to have been the "it" girl in school] can connect with never feeling like we had a place. My husband was the first person to really accept me and push me to be myself...I owe the confidence and security I have found to him. :-) Glad to hear that YOU have such a great guy to boost you up as well.

Awesome!! Heading over to read that post NOW! I don't have a daughter [yet...maybe some day] and I can certainly understand your desire to teach her about what the real meaning of beauty is. And like us when we were that age, they probably won't listen to us. But it's a blessing to know that eventually, maybe one day, they will reach the point of contentment like the rest of us. I think it's a factor we can contribute to *ahem* aging...or should I just say, becoming wiser? :-) Kudos to you for leading your daughters in the right direction! They are blessed to have a mother who stresses the importance of REAL beauty.

At least you recognize when and where you felt confident and happy with yourself and the place you were in your life. That's a HUGE step toward maintaining that feeling 100% of the time. I hope you continue to take those steps-even if they are tiny ones-toward reaching that point of contentment again! Hugs and prayers for a continued recovery!! Hope you get back to feeling like your best self again soon!
