Why don't you just slap a wheel on the mascot's flank and add insult to injury!

Good, it'd be what Trixie deserves after being trashed as Equestria Daily's mascot. May her episodes reign long and superior until she reclaims her rightful place.

Now by "new mascot" this whole time we've actually been meaning "pony that Trixie gets to duel to the death to earn her rightful place as EQD's one and only representative" right?... Right?... Guys?

Oh, the wide-eyed, head tilt-- very cute. Only problem with this filly is that she isn't TRIXIE.

Hmm, heard of it for a bit now but haven't watched it yet. Should probably take the plunge. Though I'm still waiting for a sister site for Adventure Time or Gravity Falls, because boy howdy do those shows deserve one.

All these comments on Miss Creber, but none on Gryph0n's hunkitude?

It would be if it was true. A lot of people in these matters aren't malicious bigots but instead just incredibly ignorant people that think they are making society a better place. That doesn't mean they don't deserve to have their views crushed but I think it does mean that they should be treated with at least a little respect.

But eh. There's a reason I don't talk much about these controversial things on this here web. Things get sticky quickly.

Having had time apart from my initial reaction and read those of others, I think I'd have to agree that naivete deserves sharp correction. A poisonous ideology needs to be corrected quickly regardless of the intentions or potential ignorance of its promoters. Society is at stake after all. Now I will have to say, though, that vitriol is rarely justified in my opinion. Fortunately many here, though perhaps not carrying sympathy for Anderson, don't hold hatred towards him either, which is healthy.

As for IDW's response, I would assume they did offer disciplinary action, he just declined to follow it, but I certainly don't know for sure. Regardless, I have no qualms with their handling of the situation. A company you work for is not the place for putting forth your views on prejudice and his potentially not knowing the view was controversial or that a mere cameo would not count as promotion is just poor thinking on his part.

From what I've seen of this incident, his intentions were good. He wasn't attempting to be malicious or seemed to at any point think he was supporting a cause of hate/malevolence. He seemed to honestly think he was supporting an artist that perpetuated a healthy ideology. So the question is, just how much putting down does mere (perceived) ignorance deserve?
