I went to Banks..and even before I went to the high school I can remember that we had a Native American Awareness week or something like that. People from different tribes came to talk about their culture and their heritage etc. I don't remember hearing any discord over our mascot.

And now..when schools are hurting for money they have to spend what they already don't have on repainting and sanding down floors and new uniforms? The people who had the issues in the first place should have to pay for that.

While we are at it, let's change the names of all of the Indian names that go in this state..that would be: renaming roads, rivers, towns, and oh hell while we are at it, let's change the state name too! That way we don't "offend" anyone else. Shoulda taken care of this back in 2001 when the schools had a slightly "bigger" budget.

Ugh. I worked at that Nordstrom for 3 years. I NEVER left the store for any reason...but it wasn't nearly as bad back then. I wouldn't go back there again for anything.

I have a feeling that with the NCAA taking a hard look at Oregon's recruiting tactics in the last year or two he got while the getting was good. Unfortunately, coming off a win like that, that's what can happen. I have a feeling he'll have a much harder time once he does hit the NFL. A lot of Oregon's players have a lot of beefing up to do before they go pro. I'm willing to bet he has a lot of learning to do before he becomes successful in the pros..2012 is going to be an interesting year! Go Ducks!

Mandatory CPR training is required in Oregon for coaches. I'm a coach and I have to get trained on it every year.

If it's a heart issue that was previously undiagnosed then Oregon legislature or OSAA should make heart screenings mandatory with a physical to play sports. This is happening more and more frequently to our youth and it's very scary to hear about!

Occupying a public space illegally, ruining, and destroying/defacing public property is not really a way to get a voice heard. It's a great waste of public resources. It's great that the 99%ers want to have a voice, and a cause, but overtime costs to the PPD, wasting tax payer time, and money, is not the way to go. I agreed for the most part, with what the protest was all about, but I will say this: Occupy does not represent me, or my family. I am considered 99% by the Occupiers, but I will never support that cause.

Maybe they could occupy Mayor Adams office. I'd be all for that before they decide to trash another park in Portland. 85K in damage? talk about selfish.
