Kewl . . . Now you're backed into a corner trying to defend yourself. Only someone very weak would be compelled to say "I'm strong".

By the way, I haven't STFU, have I?

Hmmm . . . Not STFU?

You really are weak.

Alinsky Hero USA: "Until then, STFU!"

Ooo . . . Is that an an implied threat? What are you going to do if we don't STFU, tough guy? Hold you breath? Spit at your screen? Slam some doors?

Naah . . . You'll just post some more silly comments.

Voting for a shallow reason from a shallow person for a shallow President.

I did some snooping. Bill Murray made campaign contributions to Ted Kennedy twice and contributed to Kerry in 2004. He was just here in Illinois to participate in a golf fundraiser for a Democrat State Senator. I'm guessing he's an Obama man. Too bad, huh?

Bill Murray was born in Wilmette, IL.

I'm happy we've found common ground, onecornpone. My initial response to you was flat-footed.

I do disagree with you in the particular, but agree in general. I thought Mitt was rather charming with Ripa. I'm kind of hoping someone can take the sleeping in as little as possible bit and run with it against the magic underwear slight.

I do agree that it's all a waste of time, though. It's stale. And too late. If Mitt could have gotten a couple of funny, down-to-earth memes out there a year ago he could be building on them now. Heck, the magic underwear stuff IS funny. But Mitt is Mitt, and stuff like that would never occur to him. As you say, he should stay away from the pop venues. He doesn't have Reagan's sunny humor to pull it off. Mitt should be Mitt, and hammer at his own vast competence and experience--then let Ryan come in and drive the nail home with numbers and particulars.

First, let me apologize for the crack about righty commentators. I was transposing the too many of the Republican establishment (Rove et al) into the general malaise all around the right about the Romney campaign.

I thought your beef was that Romney wasn't acting Presidential with Kelly Ripa. Now your argument is that he shouldn't have appeared there at all. Honestly, I agree. He should have sent Ann there alone to deal with that fluff. I understand the thinking, though. That's the nature of campaigning now.

I really don't want to fight with you, onecornpone. In fact, I'll take your argument one step further. Campaigning this way is like fighting the last war. It still works somewhat for Obama as his base eats that crap with a spoon. I'd like to see Romney listen to a political Billie Mitchell and bust out some carriers.

"When will Mitt surge ahead and stay there?"

I don't know. Frankly, I don't know if he ever will. The polls are rotten. The MSM is rotten. I will not be surprised if the polls and news are massaged to make Romney look like the loser until the day of the election.

I do have faith in the American people, though--well most of them, anyway. I believe Romney will win and I believe Romney will win by a greater margin than any of the slight bumps show. I believe because I must.

Of course we're allowed to disagree. Why do you feel compelled to point that out to me? I am not attacking your opinion about Presidential dignity, although I do disagree with you about how how bad Romney's performance was--I'm basing my own opinion on the entire interview. I am questioning your implication that Romney's appearance with Kelly Ripa will somehow hurt him.

By the way, Nixon truly is dead, been that way for quite awhile, but that doesn't change the fact that he was elected President two months after appearing on Laugh-In.
