I heard something on our local talk radio station (WVOC in Columbia, SC) this afternoon that is VERY disturbing. The announcer called it a breaking story that had not yet made the national news. He would not provide the source of his information but said it was from a credible source. A bill is supposed to be introduced in Congress on Tuesday called the "Health & Safety for Americans Act". It calls for extremely high taxes on tobacco (an additional $5.00 per pack of cigarettes) and a ban of all tobacco products being grown in the US within 5 years; a reduction in speed limits with a maximum of 38 MPH; registration of all guns ($100 each) and ammo with heavy fines and imprisonment for those failing to comply; mandatory heart healthy portions to be served in restaurants with "all you can eat" buffets being banned. Does any one have any additional information?? We need to find out if this is in fact true and start contacting our (so called) representatives NOW!

He read a comment from one congress woman stating that congress has a moral obligation to protect us and that this will prolong the lives of all americans. He also said that the majority of both houses and the president were in favor of this bill and it would most likely pass. I was in total shock when I heard this and am praying this is not true! Does any one have any additional information?? We need to find out if this is in fact true and start contacting our (so called) representatives NOW!

Elliott, the definition of LIBERTY is the state of being free from control or restiction; the right to act, believe, or express oneself as one chooses; the state of being free from confinement, servitude or forced labor; freedom from undue or unjust governmental control (protected by the Bill of Rights); a right to engage in certain actions without interference or control.

The term has been highjacked as LIBERALS of this day WANT to CONTROL EVERY aspect our life from telling us what to drive, where to set the thermostat, what kind of light bulbs to use, what to eat, where to smoke, what to say - or not say, how much we can earn, how to spend our money, tax us to death, how to teach and dicipline our children, what we can plant in our own garden, "mandatory" volunteer programs, and the list goes on and on and on.....

In today's world it appears LIBERAL = TYRANT
Not my opinion, just fact.
