Working here in the halls of Congress I see quite a bit and hear quite a bit as well.I was in a conversation with a Senator who happens to be a democrat late this morning and mentioned the controversy regarding contraception. I told him I didn't get why this was an issue at all since no state or political party is preventing women from getting contraceptives. His response was very telling.He said and I quote "abortion is a lost issue for us now and women voters appear to be leaving Obama" so Senator Schumer in conversation with Obama, Reid, and Pelosi decided to make a big issue of contraception since the Affordable Health Care act, better known to us as Obamacare, mandates religious organizations must pay for contraception for their female employees. They decided they needed to get ahead of the problem they knew would hit them politically with religious organizations such as the Catholic Church and the religious liberty issue which was sure to be used against them especially since the Catholic Church was fighting back.
