Yes. Just get all your documentation together from all the doctors who have treated you. Each state varies on their rules, but you should apply as soon as you can because it is a lengthy process.

Usually by elimination of other conditions. There is currently no definitive test for RSD.

There is a blood test being tested, but as of right now, it's a combination of symptoms and lack of other autoimmune conditions.

The dentist I went to is not related to me. Make sure your dentist is aware of the RSD: protocol for dental work is to do it in parts and additional anesthetic. If done right, disturbing the nerves can be avoided. There are some very good articles on the internet regarding this subject.

That is the identical surgery I had that led to my RSD. Bone on bone in my thumbs. I had the right one fixed, then RSD set in soon after the surgery. I'll private message you about locating a doctor there.

I also lost many friends. They have never heard of it and think we should "get better". Let me see who lives in Delaware. You may have someone close to you. But, we can also talk even though I live in Las Vegas.

At one point, during my worse flare, I couldn't speak without stuttering. Also, since my teeth all snapped off, I could not pronounce words clearly. I now have full dentures.

All of us with RSD understand all your issues. No judgement at all; we support each other. I do my radio show where I bring on medical experts who deal with RSD; patients who want to tell their story and patient advocates who raise awareness. ONLY when we are feeling up to it. It is hard to stay positive, but there are so many new treatments available many doctors haven't even heard of or are so old fashioned they don't want to know.

There has been 2 pain conferences this month and tonight I am having Barby Ingle on to let my listeners know what's new and upcoming for RSD and all treatment of pain. I write from the heart. Sometimes it can be very discouraging when people make insensitive remarks. It makes you doubt yourself.

There are 6-10 million people who have this condition and it is important to keep putting information out there to educate others. That's what me and so many others continue to do everyday.

I totally agree. I started my radio show on RSD and other chronic conditions in 2008. My hands don't work work (right hand not at all) so I decided to raise awareness by talking. My show is on Mon and Fri's.

There are also some great organizations whose goal is to raise public awareness.
