Well, you just passed Barstow - looks like home today. Another Iron Butt day for Shai. Hope you're having better weather than we are - thunder, lightening this morning and steady downpour ever since. OK by me, my flowers need a good, long drink and I need to catch up on indoor stuff - like watching you get home :-) Good thing my indoor projects are in the same room as my computer. Safe Home!
I gotta ditto what Dean said - where's the pics of Jim getting busted? Sounds like Shai has a cool head on his shoulders, though. Probably not a good idea to be snapping pics of the cops 'doing their job'. You two sure got an early start, just like you wanted! Past Vegas already and I'm still enjoying my morning coffee! Sounds like one of those days, Jim. Too bad about that ticket...I know I've had my fair share. You need to take Shai along on ALL your trips as the official Road Photographer. What a great job capturing the storm!! Awesome pics!!! Put them all on my Alaska DVD :-) Enjoy your ride & be safe!
Thanks for the post, Shai! Sounds like Jimmy really showed you a good time. I'm sure this was a totally different experience for him compared to his other Sturgis trips. You always see things differently when you're showing someone else. I'll be watching for SPOT as you make your way home. I'm always sad when I have to start home from vacation and apparently I'm sad when Jim starts home, too. You've got a few days yet on the road to go through some awesome scenery. Hope the weather holds for you so you don't have to use that new rain gear. Happy Trails!
I guess I'll stop complaining about Shai not blogging - he's taking some fantastic photos!! Good job, Shai, you really have a good eye! I'm all about the pictures anyway - every picture tells a story, don't it? Perhaps you can make addtional improvements to Mt. Rushmore by carving JimmyV on the other side. That'd make a coupla nice bookends for those stony old presidents :-)

I've been experiencing all kinds of issues, not only with comments, but with accessing this page at all. I was despairing this morning that all I'd know of the rest of the trip was to follow along with SPOT, but when I got to the office and tried again, I was treated with the awesome upgrade to Mt. Rushmore!! And Shai, I repeat - we've been hearing Jimmy's account of Sturgis for 20 years - we need a new voice and a new look at things. And Jimmy, don't be such a soft touch, give him a hard time back. More Shai posts!! How 'bout some pics with captions by Shai? That might be less intimidating and more fun...Have a blast!!

OK, the ENTIRE web site was acting funny...I posted, then it was gone, so I reposted (but only part of it made it), then EVERYTHING was gone - no home page, no comments, no nothing but INTERNAL ERROR. So I'm getting ready to send an email 'bug report' when, voila, here we are with a double post (which I deleted). So, all is well in Blogsville, for now.
