Totally expected. Transformers has one of the broadest appeals around. Every time I'm at the theatre I hear people remark about the standee. People of different ages, races, gender, just about everyone you can think of is waiting for this movie.

This is not IMAX's fault.

This is your fault. All of you. For not saying a fucking thing when conversion started happening a couple years ago. You all went to the converted theatres and watched your movies and didn't say a damn thing.

And now because some random comedian pitches a fit you all jump on the bandwagon like the sheep you are.

Besides, the presentation will be even better now because you will watch a movie free of scratches, free of sound issues, free of reel changes, there's no chance of a brain wrap, no platter drops, nothing like that.

But no, none of you even care about that. Why should you? You just listen to what you want to hear.

IMAX Digital would have been a fine name, and AMC, Regal, et al suggested such. IMAX did screw up in that respect, but we also have to take into account that most of the IMAX digital theaters started life with standard IMAX film and projectors, and only recently have they been converted into digital systems.

As for two 2K projectors vs a 4K, I've yet to see a HUGE difference between the two. What matters to me is that it's a definite step up from film projection (even though film is not without its charms).

And as I said before, I gladly pay to extra money to see movies in Digital IMAX, because I know I'm getting a viewing/listening experience that is superior to film.

I am sick of this non-issue. I was SO glad that this site hadn't picked this shit up yet, but now I'm extremely disappointed.

Hollywood movies are not shot on 70mm IMAX film, and they never will be because it's too expensive to do so. In the end the larger screen won't mean jack shit for a movie like Star Trek because they don't change the aspect ratio during the digital conversion. That means the movie is projected in a "letterbox" format, effectively cutting off a third of the film at top and bottom.

In the end, the picture is perfect. The sound is beyond perfect. There's absolutely no worries about scratches or chemical splices or random color changes or sound dropping out or sound playing in stereo/mono only or reel changes or cigarette burns.

So what if the screen isn't super huge? As someone else mentioned above, the quality of a standard film projection is really quite terrible when compared to a digital IMAX. Oh, and film IMAX? If there's any sort of flaw, it's ridiculously obvious. Every movie I've seen on film IMAX has had dirt particles the size of my head in various places during the entire movie. With digital, the only thing you have to worry about is catastrophic projector failure.

Actually, it's Stan Bush trying to get Bay's attention. Bush has been trying to get a song into one of these movies for a long time but he keeps getting rejected.

I wish Stan could have just added a new guitar solo to the original or something. Touch09 is just...terrible. Sure, the original isn't great, but it's fun as hell.

As for Linkin Park, I hate them as a band, but like someone else said: So long as that song is confined to an instrumental version, it'll be fine.

Never cared for Trek before. I knew some of the lines and stuff, but I was never interested.

That being said, Trek 09 was fantastic. Very fun, very cool. Sooooo much cooler than Wolverine.

Fuck, first the Red Wings lose due to bad officiating and now this?! What a terrible fucking night!

This movie will be an hour and a half of nothing. No substance, no intelligence, NOTHING. Family Guy/American Dad/Seth MacFarlane is bullshit for bullshit's sake, and that pisses me off. MacFarlane is hack, and I'm super pissed that his dreck stays on TV while shows like King of the Hill, Arrested Development, and Firefly get cancelled. FUCK!

So what you're trying to tell me is that Alice wears the exact same outfit as Megan Fox?

Download the HD version and go frame by frame. It's Megan Fox. As of yet there is absolutely no mention of Alice in any of the trailers.
