*Is halfway through setting up a petition on https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/ for outed Toastie HRC to draft Cliffe, Ortberg, and Chung into the military on day one and make the continued running of The Toast a matter of National Security in perpetuity; slowly realizes that if you love something, you let it go; also realizes that having your favorite writers impressed into the military isn't particularly nice or Quakerly; settles for indulging in inappropriate day drinking and maudlin displays of sentimentality*

Yeah, well in the end I only played myself. Just drove Baltimore to DC listening to Cat Stevens and ran the full emotional gamut from 'misting up a bit' to 'I am bawling now, bawling is all I have ever known, and will ever know'.

That illustration, like half of the stuff on the Toast in the last couple weeks, made me emit small high-pitched feelings noises that may not have been appropriate for the workplace.
