Let's face it, both have their own challenges and we're all just trying to do our best for our families at the end of the day BUT having done both I would say being a working mum is much much harder than staying at home! I can only speak from personal experience of course! That said, I'm not sure why some people insist on making it a competition. It is what it is.

I must admit that we've never felt the need to limit screen time with our four because it has never been a problem. I think sometimes putting limits on things can make them more desirable if that makes sense? My teenagers spent more time online as they got older but even with them, I'm happy that they do plenty of other things too. My younger ones tend to get bored and move on to other things before going boggle eyed! I can't help but think that it's a good thing to learn to use screens within reason for themselves too? It's about showing a little self restraint, isn't it? I'm sure lots of grownups - especially bloggers - spend too much time in front of a screen so the irony of them writing about limiting their children's screen time always makes me smile!

I think I would have done just the same. I can't imagine how awful it must have been to see an upset child locked in a car. I hate to judge but I honestly can't think of a single reason why I would leave a child in this way. Maybe the mother did a silly thing and has learnt her lesson? Or maybe she needs help and this could be the nudge to get it? I don't know. But I do think you did the right thing lovely x

I loved reading this. Believe me, working so hard on your relationship now will make the tough years that inevitably lie ahead much easier to get through. I have incredibly close relationships with my two teenagers and I'm convinced that this came about through the foundations that were set when they were much younger.

I have to say that I agree with much of what you've said here. I'm sick of the parties telling me what everybody else is doing wrong rather than what they want to do for me if that makes sense? Like you, our local MP is superb and I did vote for him last time but I'm so at odds with the party generally now that I just don't know what to do. I will definitely vote (choosing the best of a bad bunch) but right now I honestly don't know who for.

I can't believe that she is two already, it only feels like yesterday that she was born?! Sending big birthday kisses to your precious girl. Seeing your photos of her always brightens my day she is such a wee doll x
